On arrival, you will visit the catacombs of Kom El-Shuqqafa, a necropolis of 3 sub-levels dating from the 2nd century AD. It merges Egyptian, Greek, and Roman culture in its features. The catacombs of Kom El-Shuqqafa, is considered one of the Seven Wonders of the Middle Ages.
Proceed to see Pompey’s Pillar, is dedicated to the Greco-Egyptian deity Serapis and the largest of its type constructed outside of the imperial capitals of Rome and Constantinople.
Continue to see the Roman amphitheater, is an excellent ancient structure of Roman period of Egypt. The theater is a well preserved marble theater that once seated 800 spectators, surrounded by the Roman baths and villas with galleries, sections of mosaic flooring, and a pleasure garden
Afterwards you will drive to discover the 15th-century defensive Citadel of Qaitbay, located on the Mediterranean Sea coast. It was erected on the exact site of the famous Lighthouse of Alexandria, which was one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.
Move on to Alexandria library, it is a striking piece of modern design that stands in contrast to the ancient architecture found throughout Egypt. You will have free time to enter the library (extra cost on spot) though local guide will show you the library inside. After finished, you will be transferred back to your hotel in Cairo.
